Frampton quits Humble Pie to concentrate on a solo career. Frampton is replaced
by Dave Clempson of the disbanding Colosseum.
Robin Trower (ex-Procol Harum) and Clive Bunker (ex-Jethro Tull) announce the formation of a new group (Jude). Other members are ex-Stone The Crows bassist Jim Dewar and singer Frankie Miller (ex-Howl).
Emerson Lake & Palmer are voted Top British band in the Melody Maker Poll. Rod Stewart is top male vocalist and Sandy Denny top lady.
John Lennon and Yoko Ono leave London to live in New York. Lennon never sets foot on British soil again.
Pink Floyd play "Atom Heart Mother" at the Montreux Classical Music Festival.
Founding member Robert Wyatt leaves Soft Machine because of musical differences. Jazz drummer Phil Howard is the replacement.
Honeybus re-form (with Pete Dello) and sign a recording deal with Bell Records.
Vocalist/ guitarist Kieran White quits Steamhammer because he wants to play solo folk music.
Hawkwind bassist Dave Anderson leaves the group owing to a difference of musical opinion. His replacement is a certain Ian Kilmister (ex-Rocking Vicars, Sam Gopal, Opal Butterfly)--better known as "Lemmy"!
