• Hollies drummer Bobby Elliott is hospitalised suffering from acute appendicitis.
• Monkee Mickey Dolenz drops in on a Beatles recording session and also visits Paul McCartney’s home during a promotional visit to London. He recalls the visit in the lyrics to the Monkees’ hit single "Alternate Title" (AKA "Randy Scouse Git".)
• The Small Faces sign a deal with Immediate Records.
• Jeff Beck attempts to put a band together but rehearsals in London’s Goodge Street are unsatisfactory. Ex-Pretty Things drummer Viv Prince and former Shadows bass icon Jet Harris prove incompatible. Beck does retain ex Steampacket/ Shotgun Express singer Rod Stewart. Ex-Birds guitarist Ron Wood fills in on bass.
